One of the hardest parts about getting pictures done is choosing what to wear for the session! Casual, fancy, colors, style?! It can be stressful. I decided to put together some clothing inspiration for the family! **Scroll to the bottom for links to clothing pieces!**
For spring photos, light and airy colors are best. I love the combination of pops of color with neutrals. I always recommend a pattern for one person (or two+ depending on group size), then a color that goes with the pattern, and maybe a neutral for guys. I don't recommend everyone wearing white as it can get blown out in the photo. Stay away from graphics T-shirts in family photos and strive to have everything ironed! It's up to you if you want to be more dressed up, but I think it looks best for spring photos.
Family Outfits: I will have links to clothing pieces at the end of this post!
Women: Pick your outfit first, then everyone else's! I think dresses are the best for spring photoshoots. Maxis, midis, or short work well. If dresses are not your thing, I love white jeans with a pop of color on top or flowy patterned pants. Jeans can work too but choose some "dressier" style.
Kids: Next, pick the kiddos! Kids can wear pretty much anything; just make sure the clothes fit them well and aren't baggy. For little girls, I love dresses and bubble suits. I am a fan of the smocked, traditional style for spring, but a neutral style dress works great too! For little boys, overalls (Jon jons), bubble suits, matching short/shirt sets, and khaki shorts are cute. For the older girls a nice dress works! For the older boys, khaki pants and button-ups are perfect!
Men: Button-ups, basic (nice) short sleeve shirt, short sleeve collared shirts. Khaki Pants or Shorts, Jeans, other colored shorts that are not too bright and blend with a pattern of family.
Obviously you can wear what you want, but these are just suggestions in case you needed some direction!
Here are some outfit inspo and color ideas that would photograph great! None of these images are mine and came straight from Pinterest;)
